Hey — I'm Eugene Berne.
I moved to the United States in 2022. Didn't speak the industry, didn't know a soul in it. I fell into appliance repair by accident — picked up a wrench because the rent wasn't going to pay itself, and I figured I could learn something useful while I did.
Seven months later I launched Berne Appliance Repair. No investors, no playbook, just a couple of trucks and a phone that I answered myself. Three years on we've completed over 29,300 service calls across South Florida — Sub-Zero columns in Coral Gables, Wolf ranges in Pinecrest, ovens in Boca Raton kitchens the night before a dinner party.
