ZIP30 and ZIP36 integrated columns have an anti-condensation heater wrapped around the door frame that opens around year 8-12. Result is cabinetry sweating in our humidity, often before the appliance throws any error. Heater replacement is a partial door-frame disassembly — about 90 minutes.
Cafe CYE and CWE French door units (and the equivalent Profile platform) have a defrost system that fails around year 5-7. Symptom: warm fresh-food side, normal freezer, no airflow at the fresh-food vent. We test heater, terminator, and main board on the first visit.
Profile and Cafe dishwashers (CDT) have a drain pump that catches debris around year 4-6. Symptom: water sits in the tub, drain cycle is silent or hums. Pull the pump, clear the impeller, verify motor magnet integrity — replace if cracked.
CHS9 induction ranges share a generator board generation with the Profile induction cooktops. Most common fault: one or two surface units stop responding while the others work. Generator board replacement, available through GE's distributor in 2-3 days.
ZGP and ZDP Monogram ranges use a glow-bar igniter that weakens around year 6-9. Symptom: oven takes multiple ignition tries, or fills with the smell of gas before catching. OEM replacement, verify safety valve operation.
PT-series wall ovens have a touch panel that develops intermittent response on the pre-2018 generation. Some buttons respond, others don't. Panel replacement is the fix — through GE distributor in 2-3 business days.
GFE and GSE side-by-side refrigerators with through-the-door water have a dual-solenoid water valve that fails around year 5-8. Symptom: ice maker drops zero or partial cubes, water dispenser works but slowly. Valve replacement, line flush.
Advantium combination ovens (ZSC, PSB) have a magnetron that wears around year 7-10. Symptom: microwave mode doesn't heat, oven mode normal. Magnetron replacement requires high-voltage discharge and proper safety procedure — not a DIY job.

Cafe induction range — can you fix it?
Yes. The CHS9 induction range shares a generator board generation with the Profile induction cooktops. Most common job is a generator board replacement when one or two surface units stop responding. Through GE distributor in 2-3 business days.
How long do GE refrigerators last?
Standard GE and Profile refrigerators are designed for about 12-15 years of service. Cafe and Monogram are built for longer — 18-25+ years on the Monogram built-in line. Wear parts (ice makers, water valves, evap fans, defrost components) are typically replaced once during a unit's lifespan.
My GE Profile dishwasher won't drain. What's the cause?
Almost always the drain pump impeller catching debris. We pull the pump on the first visit, clear the obstruction, verify motor magnet integrity, and replace if cracked. Less commonly the check valve at the disposer connection is clogged — we check that too.
Do you handle Advantium speed-cook ovens?
Yes — both the Profile and Monogram Advantium platforms. Magnetron replacement (requires high-voltage discharge procedure), control panel, and convection element. Most common job is the magnetron around year 7-10.
Are GE parts easy to find?
