Dishwasher Repairacross South Florida.

Integrated, panel-ready European dishwashers are the standard in the kitchens we serve, and they demand the standard to match. Our senior techs remove and refit Miele G-series, Bosch Benchmark, and Thermador Sapphire units behind custom millwork using protective film and the manufacturer's procedure — never a pry bar — and diagnose their brushless pumps and heat-pump drying systems in service mode rather than by guesswork.

Running commercial-grade equipment — walk-in coolers, ice machines, restaurant ranges, commercial laundry? Berne Commercial Repair handles restaurants, production facilities, hotels and property management across South Florida.

If you're staring at a broken dishwasher right now — Eugene Berne, owner. Here's what we do, how it costs, and what to ask whichever company you end up calling (us or otherwise).

If you bought your appliance from one of those nationwide warranty programs — call us first anyway. We're usually faster than the warranty network and can sometimes coordinate the part order while you go through the warranty hassle.

Call, text, book online — all three go to my team. — Eugene

FAQ

Dishwasher Repair — questions we get

  • Why is there standing water at the bottom of my dishwasher tub?

Drain pump impeller is obstructed by broken glass, label adhesive, or food debris; the drain hose loop is kinked; or — very common — the garbage disposal knock-out plug was never removed during a disposal install. The dishwasher will never drain until that plug is out. We check all three on a $59 diagnostic.

  • My Bosch dishwasher is flashing E15 — what is it telling me?

E15 means the AquaStop float in the base pan has detected water where it should never be — Bosch's built-in leak protection doing its job. Tilting the machine to reset the float treats the symptom, not the leak. Our technician pulls the unit, traces the water with a dye test through the supply connections, inlet valve, and pump seal, and repairs the true source. Nearly every E15 on a Bosch 300, 500, 800, or Benchmark series is resolved in a single visit.

  • Why does a full cycle leave residue on my dishes?

Three usual suspects in South Florida kitchens: hard-water scale blocking the spray-arm jets, a worn chopper or macerator blade letting food circulate back onto the load, or a heater that never brings the wash water up to proper sanitizing temperature. We verify each of them during the diagnostic, descale where needed, and keep chopper kits on the truck for Whirlpool and KitchenAid Tall Tub platforms.

  • Do you service Miele dishwashers?

Yes. Miele G5000, G6000, G7000, and the older Optima G2000 lines are part of our regular service mix. Miele uses heat-pump drying systems and brushless DC circulation pumps that are different from mainstream brands. Senior technicians handle Miele calls and we carry the most common Miele parts on the senior truck.

  • Why won't my dishwasher start when I press the button?

Door latch microswitch has failed (the unit does not think the door is closed), the ribbon cable from the user-interface board to the main control board has corroded, or a thermal fuse on the control board has blown. Latch assemblies are stock items for high-volume brands. Control board thermal fuse is re-solderable on some Whirlpool boards.

  • How much does a dishwasher heating element replacement cost?

Heating element replacement on Whirlpool, KitchenAid, GE, and Maytag dishwashers runs $190 to $280 all-in for the part and labor — the $59 diagnostic is free once you approve the repair. Bosch and Miele use heat-pump drying with no traditional element — those repairs are different and we quote separately. The signature symptom is dishes still warm but the cycle never finishes.

  • Why does my dishwasher leak from the door?

Door gasket has a flat spot or tear (common after 6 to 10 years), or the inlet valve is dribbling past its shutoff and overfilling the tub so water spills over the door seal during the wash phase. We dye-test the gasket and inlet valve to isolate. Gasket swaps are quick; inlet valves are model-specific and stock for Whirlpool, KitchenAid, GE, and Bosch.

  • Should I repair or replace a 10-year-old dishwasher?

On mainstream brands depends on the failure. Cheap fixes like door latches, gaskets, inlet valves, and choppers are almost always worth doing. A failed circulation pump or main control board on a 10-plus year old commodity dishwasher often is not. On Bosch and Miele — almost always worth repairing because the heat-pump drying systems and stainless tubs are designed for 15-plus years.

  • Do you handle dishwasher install when we replace?

Yes — we manage the entire changeover: water supply, drain routing, electrical connection, precise leveling, and balancing the door springs, then remove the old unit before we leave. A standard installation is $185 to $260, with the range driven by the state of the under-sink plumbing (new shutoffs, or a fresh tailpiece on the disposal). Integrated panel-ready models from Miele and Bosch Benchmark are a longer, more careful job — those we quote individually.

  • What is your diagnostic fee on a high-end appliance?

A flat $59 covers the visit and a full factory-level diagnosis — and it is credited back in full the moment you approve the repair. You pay it only if you choose not to proceed. There is no premium surcharge for Sub-Zero, Wolf, Miele, or Thermador work; the diagnosis is the same disciplined process on every unit.

  • How quickly can a technician reach my home?

We hold priority dispatch windows for luxury kitchens across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach. Call early and we can usually schedule a white-glove visit the same day; for built-in and integrated units we match you with the senior technician trained on your platform rather than simply sending the next available van.

  • Are you licensed and insured to work in luxury homes?

Yes. Berne Appliance Repair is fully licensed and insured in the state of Florida, and we carry the general liability coverage that gated communities, condo associations, and high-rise buildings require. We provide a certificate of insurance to your management company on request, before the visit.

  • Which luxury brands do you specialize in?

Our work centers on the high-end and built-in market — Sub-Zero, Wolf, Miele, Thermador, Viking, Gaggenau, La Cornue, JennAir Luxury, Bosch Benchmark, GE Monogram, Liebherr, and EuroCave. Our technicians are factory-trained on these platforms, and we also service everyday brands such as LG, Samsung, and KitchenAid when they share a luxury kitchen.

  • What warranty backs your repairs?

Tiered parts coverage plus a 90-day labor warranty. Sealed-system welds carry our longest protection — a full decade. Mechanical components are protected for two years, electronics and electrical for one. Labor is backed for 90 days — if the same fault returns, we come back at no charge. On premium platforms we source OEM parts through the factory channel, and the part number goes on your invoice so the repair is fully documented.
