Background
Trained as an engineer before moving into appliance service. Picked up refrigeration first because it's the category that punishes shortcuts — refrigerant, compressors, sealed systems, and electronics all have to line up before the job is real. Built Berne Appliance Repair so I'd want to work here: W-2 only, paid training, real trucks, real parts.
What I work on
Still on the schedule for commercial dispatch, Sub-Zero 648PRO and 700-series diagnostics, Wolf range work, and any control-board call a tech in the field needs a second pair of eyes on. About a third of my week is on the trucks. Two thirds is dispatch, training, and customer escalations that need an owner's signature.
Why I work at Berne
I built it. The version of this company I wanted to work at didn't exist, so I made it. Same reason most of the team stays — Berne treats the work seriously.
