Two generations of JennAir in the same city
Miami has two kinds of JennAir kitchens. The older ones, in Kendall, Westchester and Miami Lakes houses remodeled twenty or thirty years ago, still have JennAir downdraft cooktops and wall ovens. The newer ones, in Coral Gables, Pinecrest and Brickell, have the built-in side-by-side and French door refrigerators and the RISE or NOIR pro-style ranges. The repairs look different. Downdraft blowers and vent lift motors on the older ones; ice makers, defrost faults and range igniters on the newer ones.
JennAir is a Whirlpool brand, which helps. Many parts come through Whirlpool distribution and arrive faster than parts for European luxury brands, and the oven controls use fault-code logic our techs read every week. The built-ins still need care. A JS42 or JF36 sits flush in cabinetry, often behind panels, so we service it in place and protect the floor and the millwork.

On JennAir built-ins this usually traces to frost on the evaporator from a defrost fault, or a fresh-food fan that stopped. We read the temperatures on both sides and test the defrost circuit before talking about the sealed system.
A scaled fill valve, a frozen fill tube, or the ice maker assembly. South Florida water scales the valve faster than the filter interval suggests. Most are same-visit repairs.
A wet or dirty electrode, a misaligned burner cap, or a weak spark module on RISE and NOIR gas ranges. We isolate the burner and test the module output.
The oven igniter has weakened and doesn't draw enough current to open the gas valve. It still glows, which fools people. We measure the current draw.
