How we approach JennAir.
JennAir sits at the top of the Whirlpool family, and that shapes how it gets repaired. The built-in refrigerators, the pro-style RISE and NOIR ranges and the wall ovens look nothing like a Whirlpool, but under the panels a lot of the electronics and many parts come from the same company and the same distribution. That's useful: parts tend to be easier to get than for European luxury brands, and a tech who knows Whirlpool fault-code logic reads a JennAir oven quickly. What's different is the install. JennAir built-in columns and side-by-sides like the JS42NXFXDE and the JF36NXFXDE French door sit flush in cabinetry, often behind custom panels, and have to be serviced in place. Pro-style ranges such as the JGRP430WP and the dual-fuel JDRP models are heavy and get gas work. And JennAir's downdraft cooktops, the product the brand started with, still turn up in South Florida kitchens remodeled in the 1990s and 2000s.

On JennAir built-ins this usually traces to frost on the evaporator from a defrost fault, or a fresh-food fan that stopped. We read the temperatures on both sides and test the defrost circuit before talking about the sealed system.
A scaled fill valve, a frozen fill tube, or the ice maker assembly. South Florida water scales the valve faster than the filter interval suggests. Most are same-visit repairs.
A wet or dirty electrode, a misaligned burner cap, or a weak spark module on RISE and NOIR gas ranges. We isolate the burner and test the module output.
The oven igniter has weakened and doesn't draw enough current to open the gas valve. It still glows, which fools people. We measure the current draw.
On the Whirlpool-family control F3 points to the temperature sensor circuit. We check the sensor and its wiring before considering the board.
The door lock motor or switch didn't report unlocked. Often fails in the same cycle as a cooling fan. Lock assembly and fan checked together.
A failed lift motor or switch on pop-up vents, or a blower motor with worn bearings and a grease-loaded filter. Common on older downdraft cooktops.
A clogged filter, the disposal knockout plug, or the drain pump. Whirlpool-platform parts, usually quick to source.

Is JennAir made by Whirlpool?
Yes. JennAir is Whirlpool Corporation's luxury brand. The design and the built-in installs are its own, but many parts and the electronics logic are shared with the Whirlpool family, which helps with parts availability.
My JennAir built-in refrigerator is warm but the freezer is cold. What's wrong?
Most often a defrost fault that let frost block the evaporator, or a fan. We test both at the $59 diagnostic. It's rarely the compressor.
Do you repair JennAir RISE and NOIR ranges?
Yes, gas and dual-fuel models: burners, igniters, spark modules, oven igniters and elements, and controls.
Do you still service old JennAir downdraft cooktops?
Yes, as long as the parts exist. Blower motors and vent lift motors are the common repairs. If a part is discontinued, we tell you at the quote.
Are you an authorized JennAir service center?
No. Berne is an independent service company, not affiliated with JennAir or Whirlpool. Under factory warranty, use factory service. Out of warranty, we're usually faster to schedule.
